I set out to use my Loaf Method to create something that people personally connected with.

A neighborhoods map of SF is a perfect combination of technical and cultural factors for a product:

1. San Franciscans have die-hard neighborhood pride 

2. SF neighborhood divisions follow 90° and 45° lines

3. The city is basically a square 

4. The Presidio has a recognizable coastline feature 

Of course, it is still not easy to make. Each coaster features 25 pieces of hardwood dimensioned to +/- 1 hundredth of an inch.
